Wildwood
Cuisine: Italian
Wildwood are a pizza and pasta style restaurant who pride themselves on producing high quality food sourced from the finest ingredients.
They want to produce food for everyone which is why they want to make sure that their menu offers something for vegans. Wildwood has a separate vegan menu which includes a burger, a Philly cheese sandwich, pizzas with vegan cheese, pastas, risotto and a sorbet for dessert.

Zaap
Cuisine: Thai
Zaap restaurants offer over 80 authentic thai street food dishes to rock your taste buds. They may be located in the centre of Nottingham but the restaurant is designed to make you feel like you’ve been transported to a Bangkok street food market.
Thai dishes are known for being made with chicken or shrimp and Zaap offers delicious plant based imitation chicken and shrimp. That means vegans can still enjoy the popular Thai dishes.

Bill’s

Bill’s restaurant is a British style restaurant chain that started out as a green grocer to celebrate great British fruit and vegetables. A cafe was introduced and the quality of the food was so good the restaurant chain was born.
As well as Bill’s classic dishes, the restaurant serves up daily specials and seasonal dinner menus so the menu does change throughout the year. While the vegan menu isn’t the largest, the food they offer is so fresh tasting. For vegans they have a couple of starters, a few salads, a mushroom wellington and coconut ice cream.

Honest Burger

Honest Burger pride themselves on creating freshly made burgers while supporting the local community. Every restaurant serves beer from a nearby brewery and many of the restaurants use ingredients from local food heroes.
While Honest Burger may not have an extensive vegan option they do have the infamous Beyond Meat burger. A plant based burger patty that was making the headlines in America for looking, cooking and tasting like a meat burger and is now (finally) here in the UK.

Mowgli wants to show how Indians love dishes that are all full of fresh, bright and intense flavours. They want to serve the kind of food Indians eat at home and on their streets. They create simple dishes away from the curry stereotype.
Wanting to have something for everyone, they have a gluten free and vegan menu. On the vegan menu they have several street chat dishes, curry companions, hindu kitchen dishes and a vegan tiffin box for one.

ASK Italian, sometimes simply known as ASK, is a casual dining restaurant serving up fresh and authentic Italian cuisine.

Founded by a trio of friends who simply wanted somewhere to eat and drink themselves. Cosy Club celebrates the joys of relaxed dining, drinking and lounging in a fabulous setting. Each Cosy Club is housed in a unique building, taking an iconic listed building and turning them into luxurious spaces.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, they have several different vegan options across their menus. Breakfast choices include vegan fry up, vegan sausage sandwich, avocado on toast and a vegan shakshuka. Lunch and dinner menus include a vegan burger, vegan fish & chips, falafel sandwich and even a vegan cheesecake.

At Yo! Sushi flavour is at the heart of everything. They create fresh, flavoursome, authentic Japanese dishes. While they are known for their sushi, they also serve a range of hot street food.
Apart from the desserts, everything vegetarian is also vegan so there are plenty of options for vegans. There are vegetable sushi rolls, gyozas, mushroom ramen, pumpkin katsu as well as seaweed and edamame.

GBK now has 4 delicious vegan burgers on their menu. They have classic bean patty burgers, a falafel burger and even a butternut squash & quinoa patty burger with Korean pulled jackfruit.

Cock & Hoop
Cuisine: British
For craft beer lovers, Cock & Hoop is a great place. Attached to the Lace Market Hotel, this cosy pub loves good food. They serve classic British pub dishes but also more modern, fresh dishes.
While they don’t have a huge vegan menu, there are a few options on the menu if you want to visit for the beers. With at least one vegan dish in each section of the menu there is a starter, sandwich, burger, risotto, truffle fries and even a dessert.

Zizzi

Zizzi is a popular Italian restaurant with over 140 restaurants across the UK and Ireland. They want their customers to enjoy delicious Italian inspired food in an environment designed with individual touches of the local area.
They’ve been working hard to increase their allergen menu so vegans have a lot more choice. The best thing about Zizzi is their vegan cheese tastes so much better than other vegan cheeses! Plus they have a vegan dessert for the chocoholics, their zillionaire’s slice.

Nando’s

Originating in South Africa and serving Portuguese style chicken, you might not expect Nando’s to offer vegan options but they actually have several dishes that are vegan or can be made vegan. The hummus with peri peri drizzle is insanely delicious.
The Supergreen burger and the sweet potato and butternut burger can be made vegan by asking for it with no mayonnaise. They now also have the great imitator burger, pitta and wrap which is vegan. Plus the fries and sweet potato mash are vegan and even the garlic bread is vegan so you have plenty of options.

Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem

Greene King is a leading pub retailer and brewer with over 2,700 pubs, restaurants and hotels across the UK. Founded in 1799, they’ve learned how to brew award winning beers and how to operate pubs you’ll want to visit. In Nottingham they have Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, one of the pubs claiming to be the oldest in England (the actual oldest is debatable!) but this is still a great pub to visit.
While their vegan options are still pretty limited and do vary for each pub, with so many of them in the UK they are worth including in this list. Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem has tomato soup, sweet potato kofta cups, mushroom and ale pie, beyond meat burger and a nut roast on Sundays.

Wagamama is a British chain restaurant that offers Asian cuisine inspired by the flavours of Japan. It’s been a favourite restaurant of mine for many years so I was really pleased that they offer vegan options.
And it’s not just one or two vegan options, they have a whole vegan menu! Diners can have vegan gyozas, rice dishes, noodle dishes and even their famous katsu curry has a vegan alternative made with seitan.

Byron Hamburgers
Cuisine: Burgers
Byron Hamburgers started with a single goal. They wanted to produce simple burgers but done properly. They make their burgers with the best ingredients possible and pair them with craft beers or thick shakes.
Byron’s have a pretty good vegan menu with three vegan burgers available. Two are meat substitute patties with different vegan cheese options and one is a beetroot falafel patty full of goodness.

Bella Italia

With an authentic Italian menu, Bella Italia provides authentic Italian hospitality in a stylish environment with laid-back vibes.
While they don’t have the greatest selection, they do have a few vegan options on the menu. There is a spaghetti carbonara, a vegan chicken pasta dish and a spicy no meat pizza. They even have a chocolate dessert that is vegan.

TGI Friday’s

TGI Fridays is an American style casual dining restaurant. They pride themselves on adding passion and personality to their restaurants. TGI Fridays is all about having fun and celebrating which is why they always have a buzzing atmosphere.

Pieminster
Cuisine: Pies
Triston and Jon were determined to reinvigorate the humble British pie and Pieminster was born. Word spread fast and after two weeks there was a queue out of the door.
They have several types of vegan pies available including a jackfruit steak, mushroom and quinoa, chicken and leek and an evergreen pie. They also have a vegan fritter and two vegan patties on the menu.

J.D Wetherspoons

J.D. Wetherspoon is a British Pub chain commonly referred to as ‘Spoons’. They are known for converting unconventional properties into attractive looking pubs such as an Opera House, a bank and even a church. There are currently almost 900 Wetherspoon pubs around the UK.
Wetherspoons is popular with locals for serving up traditional pub grub at a reasonable price. The vegan options have been increasing and now vegans can enjoy a quinoa salad, five bean chilli, sweet potato and chickpea curry, mushroom pie, a full English breakfast and now a vegan burger

Falafel has a passion for food, creating dishes using fresh ingredients and healthy alternatives, all derived from a secret recipe rooted deep in the heart of the Middle East. You can enjoy a true Middle Eastern pastime, a shesha.
As the name would suggest, there are plenty of falafel dishes available, most of them suitable for vegans. Plus there is hummus, baba ganoush, foul medames, patata hara, shorba and a vegetable sambousek.

The Angel Microbrewery

The Angel Microbrewery is a character pub set within a 15th century listed building. They produce a great selection of ever changing ales in their onsite microbrewery and all the beer is unfined making it vegan friendly.
They serve up a variety of seasonal organic and ethically sourced dishes. Most of their dishes have a vegan alternative such as a vegan sausage sandwich, vegan steak, vegan fish and chips or the vegan sausage and mash.

Pizza Express

Opened back in 1965, Pizza Express never compromised on their ingredients in order to create great flavours. They are passionate about creating great food for everyone and have an extensive vegan range. They’ve even opened a vegan Pizza Express in London.
Their vegan menu consists of a wide variety of pizzas, both with and without vegan cheese. There are also several starters including vegan ‘Pizza Express’ dough balls and a vegan mozzarella garlic bread. Those with a sweet tooth will be happy to see vegan desserts including a vegan carrot cake.
